"I don't know" is not a sign of weakness

'The mind is not a vessel to be filled but a fire to be kindled.' (Plutarch) If you fill your head with knowing things, there is no room for oxygen to blow through, to fan the flames and allow all those facts to make interesting connections with each other. Nothing new will occur. Patterns will repeat. It is OK for leaders to not have the answers. Saying "I don't know" is not weakness. "I don't know" opens the door to possibilities, empowering teams rather than destroying their trust in you. It opens the vents, allows in the oxygen, and makes room for diverse connections to be ignited. If you and your team focus on organising the questions to be asked, and to whom, you will achieve breakthrough action that is fit for the future. Another great podcast episode from the Ambition Unleashed team at Achieve Breakthrough, with Sara Moore, Wayne Alexander and inspirational input from Béatrice Bigois of EDF Trading. Listen in and learn more about how you can move from knowing to curious learning, to become a leader that people want to follow and achieve outstanding results.
